The city of Juarez is close to the state of Texas, and the violent crimes are high. It was once called “the city of death” by the media.
In 2011, members of the Seta Drug Trafficking Group opened fire on vehicles in two states of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency in San Luis Potosí, northern Mexico, killing one of them.
In 2012, two CIA agents and a Mexican Marine were shot by the Mexican federal police in Morelos, central Mexico. The police claimed to have "accepted the wrong person" when they were investigated.
