Recently, many domestic provinces have issued specific action plans for supply side reforms. In the next three to five years, the funds invested by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, and other places to complete the short board of soft and hard infrastructure will reach more than one trillion yuan. According to the principle of “wood barrel effect” in economics, how much water a barrel can hold is determined by its shortest board, and only by adding short boards can the capacity be increased. Experts pointed out that as an important part of the structural reforms on the supply side, “complementing short boards” is to make up for short supply, expand effective supply, upgrade industries, improve supply quality, and allow “wood barrels” to be filled with sufficient water to increase their capacity. Industrial competitiveness and enterprise vitality, the purpose of improving the overall effectiveness of the national economy.

1 Can't be "short" lasting

We are still feeling deficient in today’s extremely rich material. Statistics show that currently there are oversupply products in some industries, for example, iron and steel, non-ferrous metals, cement, textiles, clothing and other industries are oversupply, and a lot of inventory is under pressure. The problems of insufficient supply in the mid-to-high-end manufacturing (AiQi, equity, information) and service products are reflected in the limited resources of the medical, health, and pension service industries; infrastructure such as urban rail transit, underground pipe corridors, and parking lots. Serious shortage; outbound consumption and rapid growth in overseas purchases reflect the problem of domestic oversupply of low-end products and shortage of high-end products.

The development of "different boards" in different areas is inevitable, but it must not be allowed to stagnate. The famous economist Song Qinghui pointed out that the current shortcomings faced by the Chinese economy are reflected in the industrial economy, and areas such as urban management, livelihood security, social governance, and environmental construction should not be overlooked. In the past, we left a lot of debts in industries and other fields. Some short boards need not be filled in, otherwise it will easily leave hidden dangers for future economic development.

Experts pointed out that structural reform on the supply side means correcting distortions in the mismatch between supply and demand structures and the allocation of factors, and solving the problem of insufficient supply, so that supply and demand can achieve a new level of balance at a higher level. The short-cut board focuses on expanding effective supply, improving the quality and efficiency of supply, and boosting total factor productivity.

2 Breakthrough to make up for "short" difficulties
